چکیده

The optimal value computation for turned-based stochastic games with reachability objectives, also known as simple stochastic games, is one of the few problems in NP ∩ coNP which are not known to be in P. However, there are some cases where these games can be easily solved, as for instance when the underlying graph is acyclic. In this work, we try to extend this tractability to several classes of games that can be thought as ”almost” acyclic. We give some fixedparameter tractable or polynomial algorithms in terms of different parameters such as the number of cycles or the size of the minimal feedback vertex set.

Simple Stochastic Games and P-Matrix Generalized Linear Complementarity Problems

We show that the problem of finding optimal strategies for both players in a simple stochastic game reduces to the generalized linear complementarity problem (GLCP) with a P-matrix, a well-studied problem whose hardness would imply NP = co-NP. This makes the rich GLCP theory and numerous existing algorithms available for simple stochastic games. As a special case, we get a reduction from binary...

Decentralized Q-Learning for Stochastic Dynamic Games

Abstract. There are only a few learning algorithms applicable to stochastic dynamic games. Learning in games is generally difficult because of the non-stationary environment in which each decision maker aims to learn its optimal decisions with minimal information in the presence of the other decision makers who are also learning. In the case of dynamic games, learning is more challenging becaus...

The Complexity of Stochastic Rabin and Streett Games'

The theory of graph games with ω-regular winning conditions is the foundation for modeling and synthesizing reactive processes. In the case of stochastic reactive processes, the corresponding stochastic graph games have three players, two of them (System and Environment) behaving adversarially, and the third (Uncertainty) behaving probabilistically. We consider two problems for stochastic graph...

Strategy Synthesis for Stochastic Rabin Games with Discounted Reward

Stochastic games are often used to model reactive processes. We consider the problem of synthesizing an optimal almost-sure winning strategy in a two-player (namely a system and its environment) turnbased stochastic game with both a qualitative objective as a Rabin winning condition, and a quantitative objective as a discounted reward. Optimality is considered only over the almost-sure winning ...
